Can you tell I'm a Londoner?
These are for the new issue of the zine the students on my course produce (Meow Magazine). This month's theme is I Love London so this was what I did. I'm also on the editing team this year and we have big plans for it.
My last project of the year was to produce two pages of graphic novel. And remember those books we all had to write about a memory or event in our lives? We all got given someone's else's book to work from, which certainly made it interesting. I won't tell you the story I got because hopefully my comic should do that for you. Click larger to read it.
We had a very tight deadline for this project which resulted in my consuming a litre and half of coffee in one day in order to get it done. To my great surprise I got a first, which was one of the highest grades in the class, which definitely makes rotting my insides with coffee worth it.
Some time last year I saw a draw-your-own-calender which obviously I had to have. It's got a nice big space to work and is printed on lovely thick paper that you can work straight onto. It's also very nice to draw something some a month that is purely for yourelf. I'm so busy and I have so many projects these days that that happens a lot less often than you'd think.
Here's January
And Feburary
And here's the calender in action
This piece was inspired by a post by the lovely LaidOutInLavender.
Here are some bits and pieces from my illustration project on circuses. All my work had been been in my portfolio then was being marked but I've got it back now. I thought I'd share some of the stuff I do at college with you over the next week or so. These were made with coloured paper. foam stamps, paint and white ink.
Which, as it turns out isn't pronouced like it's made of dead blind insectivorous mammals.
For some reason I want to make little monsters out of old clothes. Actually if any one is feeling very generous and/or bored and wants to send some old clothes my way that would be hugely appricated. Send me a message and we can work something out.
In other news I got a lovely mention on someone's blog. Thanks Kerry!
