Here's a card I made for one of my grandmothers. I painted butterflies with watercolours and white ink.
I bought my mum earrings and crumbly fudge and made two pies for dessert; an french style apple tart and a deep dish rhubarb and ginger pie.
I hope all the mums reading this had a lovely day today.
Once again the smoothies have their hats on for Innocent's Big Knit, a wonderfully fun charitable venture. They are holding a Big Knit smoothie hat photo competition on Flickr with the prize of a year's supply of smoothies. Naturally I am entering. The actual smoothie bottles got recylcled before I had a chance to take any photos, but I found satsumas and lemons to have a lot of natural character.
I can't say why exactly, but I decided to make my own peanut butter cups. This is my 'made up as I went along, but rather sucessful' recipe.
Ingredients: A bar of chocolate, peanut butter (if you're cool you'll use crunchy). You'll also need some of those tiny little muffin cases.
Melt a few squares of chocolate, either in the microwave or put them in a bowl on top of another bowl with boiling water in it.
Spoon the chocolate in the cases by putting lots of chocolate on the back of a teaspoon and smooshing it around the case. Lots will drip down to the bottom of the case, but that it good.
Put the cases on a plate in the fridge for 10 minutes to set a little.
Melt up some more chocolate and coat the edges of the cases the same way as before. Once the sides have a good coating put them back in the fridge for 10 to 20 minutes. Eating the excess chocolate is encouraged.
Once they're fairly set spoon a teaspoon of your peanut butter of choice in the case and smooth it down.
Melt a few more squares of chocolate and spoon it over the top of the peanut butter.
You can eat them now whilst the top's all melty and yummy or you can wait till they set and eat them like real peanut butter cups. If you've made the sides thick enough you can even peal off the case before eating them.
Yum.

Four jobs I have had in my life: (being 17 I am using ‘job’ in the broadest sense of the word)
1)General dogsbody in my dad’s bookshop. I was 14 so I made the tea and priced up books.
2) ‘In house artist’ at my parent’s ceramic café. This means I paint most of the commissions and pieces for sale in the shop. If things get busy I can make lattes and (heaven forbid) talk to customers too.
3) Painting Jane’s shoes. (I did say ‘job’ ‘in the broadest sense of the word’)
4) possible upcoming job- Some guy on etsy may be commissioning me to painting 16 pictures for him, but we’re still discussing terms and prices at the moment.
Four movies I would watch over and over:
1) Amelie (I always spot something new in it)
2) The Matrix (ditto)
3) Pride and Prejudice (the Kiera Knightly version)
4) Ground Hog Day
Four places I have never gone, but want to:
1) Paris
2) Australia
3) Hawaii(mostly inspired by Lilo and Stitch
4) New York(fingers crossed I might be going next year with the college)

1) Breakdown- Jack Johnson
2) Otherwise - Morcheeba
3) Rain City - Turin Brakes
4) Kiss Me - Sixpence None The Richer (My taste in music isn't always this wussy. Really.)
