Sourly eating sour cherry in a sour cherry tree, of course. Made with acrylic paint and cut up sweet wrappers on brown paper.

So, after the sucess of my russian doll collage I decided to make some more. First I made little stuffed ones with patterned fabric and hand painted faces.

 

Then I made some more collaged one which I backed with thick watercolour paper, laminated or vanished and turned into miniture art jewerly.I made most of them with sweet wrappers just because I love the bright colours and patterns. Most of these will be in the shop once it's re-stocked.

 

Here are some bits and pieces from my illustration project on circuses. All my work had been been in my portfolio then was being marked but I've got it back now. I thought I'd share some of the stuff I do at college with you over the next week or so. These were made with coloured paper. foam stamps, paint and white ink.

I hoard paper (I have a big box, an A3 folder and magazine holder full of it), some of which I've used to make this hoard of Russian Dolls.

They're lots of fun to draw. I wish I'd discovered this love of lace collars and ruffs before I visited the V&A, though.

I'm am enjoying the square format of my new paperchase sketchbook. The brown paper isn't actually very easy to sketch on so I'm using lots of collage and pen which is fun. I also like drawing speech bubbles at the moment

Let's be honest, I'd love a dress like that. This is a birthday card made for my cousin Katie.

Finbar is a wise and all knowing rabbit who comings many flavours, including original, minty fresh and pirate. I cut him out of lino and printed him onto paper and fabric. I have loads of these prints and lots of little stuffed Finbars too, so I'm going to put some on Etsy went I have time. If you'd like one just let me know.

 

Note pirate Finbar's sequined peg leg and daisy eye patch. My friend thinks they look like a couple, in which case the pink one could be Fionulla, but Finbar* is so manly he can wear pink and florals at the same time.

*Finbar and Fionulla are Irish names and means fair head or white hair, which is appropriate since their hair and features are white. 

This is a commission I actually started a while ago but but college and the like took over. The comissioner was incredible patient and over the Easter holidays I got these finished. They are a mixture of watercolour, collage and ink. I personally think she did an awesome job framing them.

All of these are made of recycled paper of sorts, mostly old catalogues and leaftlets.
